b. 1995, NYC.
Nina Brewster is a multimedia artist and designer who just graduated with a BFA from the University of Michigan at the Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design. Nina works in all media, recently focusing her senior thesis on exploring the image transfer process and what it means to make a painting- that's an image- yet without a canvas. She challenges the traditional techniques and applications of work, pushing unconventional forms of art making and working through reimagining materials. Her work comments on identity and forms of representation; from painting digital selfies to portraiture in closer spaces.
